The Institute for Jewish Studies in the CIS is deeply grateful for the Pincus Fund's ongoing and generous support of Lamed.
Lamed also coordinates local and national workshops, seminars on the challenges involved in teaching Jewish subjects and engaging parents in the learning process, and opportunities for intensive study of Hebrew and basic Jewish information. The goal of Lamed is to give teachers a solid Jewish knowledge base and the pedagogic skills to convey that knowledge in such a way that their students become excited about growing in their Judaism.
Today, approximately 1,800 teachers are members of Lamed. The influence of the Lamed program is felt around the world, as many "graduates" of the program have emigrated to Israel, the United States, and Germany, where they continue to transmit their love of Judaism to countless new students.
